Replacement of existing sewer infrastructure that was damaged during the Christchurch earthquake. Including the gravity mains and laterals along with manholes and other structures. The ground conditions were somewhat challenging with variable soil types including running sands. Well-point dewatering was required. The location of this work was in built up urban areas with a lot of existing services, particularly overhead power-wires which were very challenging to work around. Road reinstatement to Christchurch City Code of practice was required and overall project was completed on time and under budget. CCC Engineering supervision staff were very pleased with how the project went.

Specialist Work Required: The existing network had to remain live so we were working with live sewer flows which required overpumping and consultation/management of existing properties.
